Much has happened since my last post, meaning I haven’t quite had the time to update The Tufted recently. I am in the midst of job hunting, hustling, and answering the question that has plagued my generation: what am I doing with my life? So for a bit my posts will be down to one or two a week.
Anyway, I’ve rounded up some delicious sweets perfect for the Fall and this lovely month of October. I’m not sure what the weather has been like in other states (California is the center of the universe obviously), but it has been warm enough here that I’m not shivering through my San Diegan skin and “cold” enough that there is some semblence of Fall. My perfect combo. Enjoy these desserts:
Peanut Butter Candy Corn Cookies:
Maple Bundt Cake:
Easy Vegan Apple Crisp:
Bake Pumpkin Doughnuts with Cardamom Crumble:
In lieu of breakfast down the street at Eats, my roommate Shoka and I decided to create our own with what we had a few weeks ago. It was a fine morning of pancakes, eggs with spinach and mushrooms, OJ, and milk:
Happy weekend, folks! This post is a bit late but Sunday brunch is around the corner, so I rounded up some lovely looking waffles for tomorrow morning:
Whole Wheat Belgian Chocolate Chip Waffles w/ Coconut Caramelized Bananas:
Whole Wheat Waffles:
Salted Caramel Fondue:
Cacao Nib & Strawberry Vegan Waffles:
Waffled Brioche French Toast:
I hope you can all appreciate the gorgeous food photography these cooks and bakers put out there. Food styling is my excuse to feature food on The Tufted! Anyway, may your brunch be midday and your meal filled with unique waffles!
For the debut of “Recipes & Food Finds”, I’d like to discuss a delicious dessert I’m seeing all over the blogosphere. These have been around for a while, but lately my Pinterest has been inundated with gourmet ice cream sandwiches (who knew saltines and vanilla ice cream could form a dessert that wasn’t basic!?).
I’m not much of a baker myself, but these creative morsels seem easy enough to replicate. Also, I have a real thing for food photography (it truly is an art), and these photos do some real justice to their sandwich subjects. Here are a few recent recipes I’ve found for out of the ordinary ice cream sandwiches:
S’More Ice Cream Sandwiches
Chocolate Dipped S’Mores Ice Cream Sandwiches
Black Forest Cherry Ice Cream Sandwiches
Saltine Ice Cream Sandwiches
S’More Waffle Sandwiches
